If you are a new business coming up with an idea for your next web design layout for your website or coming up with a new logo and don’t know where to begin this article will give you some guidance in coming up with a suitable colour scheme for your website or brand.

How to create a colour scheme for your website if you already have a logo

Canva has a fantastic tool that allows you to upload any picture such as a logo and have the site extract the colour scheme from the logo and output the colours in hex and RGB code. This allows you to easily find out what colours are associated with your logo that would compliment your website layout.

Depending on what kind of logo you have and what colours you use in your logo will determine the range of colours you will have available. It is important to note if you choose colours that don’t contrast well in your logo this will also reflect on your website so it is important if you are taking this approach that your logo design is finalised.

TIP: Save the colour codes of your scheme in a document somewhere as quite often when building content for your brand you will want those colour codes handy,

Designing a logo from scratch

Canva is a freemium service that allows users to create graphics used for social media websites, websites, blogs, e-mail marketing and graphics for print purposes. It really is a great tool and the fact it is free allows you to get started for free.

Canva Pricing Australia $13.99 per month.

There are a few types points of Canva premium that are worth mentioning:

The premium upgrade which is as of Feb 2020 is $13.99 AUD per month if you pay annually upfront. The premium gives you access to plenty of images and vectors with the abilities to resize your current canvas. One feature that annoys most if the inability to make PNG graphics transparent. The lack of transparency feature in the free option makes logo creation difficult if your logo is anything but perfectly squared.

Canva comes with a 30-day trial which you are required to enter payment information prior. However, you can cancel anytime before and not get billed.

Get access to additional graphics and photos without upgrading to premium.

You can upgrade your account and get access to plenty of photos and graphics for a small fee. Interestingly enough this upgrade option is more of an option for mobile app users using Canva. This upgrade does not include any of the pro features.

If you can’t justify upgrading to Canva pro you would find plenty of uses for the stock images that Canva has. And if you are savvy enough you can grab images from the library directly without having to download a Canva template just to get the image.

Is Canva premium worth it?

For the price and the features of Canva premium, it is worth upgrading especially if you can pay for a year upfront. Canva allows you to work on your website graphics and design amazing content while you are on the road on your mobile phone or on your desktop.

And considering applications like Photoshop and Illustrator can cost hundreds of dollars each year in licensing fees it’s not a bad alternative app if you are just getting started with graphic design or marketing.

Today on September 11th, Apple delivered its next model to showcase to fans and unveiled the new iPhone 11, its latest flagship steep price of $1,1199 AUD. But after just like previous devices, the price will sure to drop in months to follow. So don’t be concerned if you don’t have mone to fork for it on the launch date. There would no doubt be excellent Christmas holiday deals with your telco in December.

iPhone Preorders

Pre-order starting at 10:00 pm AEST on 13th September 2019
Which will be available in stores on the 20th September 2019.

iPhone 11 Key New Features

It is a smartphone that offers a range of powerful features at an affordable price tag. Sold alongside the more expensive iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, the iPhone 11 is going to be the most suited iPhone for most people.

The iPhone 11 succeeds the iPhone XR, and it features a 6.1-inch LCD that Apple calls a “Liquid Retina HD Display.” which should hopefully be an improved display over previous models. It features a 1792 x 828 resolution at 326ppi, a 1400:1 contrast ratio, 625 nits max brightness, It offers true tone support for adjusting the white balance to the ambient lighting, and wide colour support for true-to-life colours.

Just like the previous iPhone XR, the iPhone 11 does not, unfortunately, include 3D Touch, instead of using Haptic Touch sensor. The haptic touch sensor is supported across iOS 13, but it did lack the pressure sensitivity for the use of 3D Touch. That being said, design-wise, the iPhone 11 features a glass body that comes in six different colours: White, Black, Yellow, Red with new Purple and Green colours being introduced.

The iPhone 11 doesn’t look much noticeably different from the iPhone XR model, but Apple says it has created what they claim to be the toughest glass ever in a smartphone and offers superior improved water resistance (IP68), boosting overall durability. Spatial audio offers a much more immersive sound experience, and Dolby Atmos is supported.

iPhone 11 Camera Changes

The new cameras on the iPhone 11 really make it stand apart from the XR, with Apple introducing an additional camera lens known as the new dual-lens. It makes the camera an overall improvement over the previous single-lens camera. The camera setup features also a standard wide-angle camera and a new ultra-wide-angle camera which has a wide-angle 120-degree field of view. Unlike the iPhone 11 Pro and the Pro Max, there is no telephoto camera lens.

The new iPhone 11 camera will be able to capture four times more scenic data, making it ideal for landscape photos, architecture images, tight shots, and more. It should be noted that both of the cameras work together to enable portrait mode for people, pets, flowers, objects, and more, this is considered an upgrade over the iPhone XR that had only supported person shots in portrait mode.

The iPhone 11 camera interface has been overhauled with a more immersive experience that lets you see and capture the area outside of the frame using the ultra-wide-angle camera if in the right mode. Lastly with the camera lenses: 2x optical zoom out is supported, as is digital zoom up to 5x which should help you take close up photos without too much distortion.

Apple has added a new Night Mode feature that’s designed to use the iPhone’s processing capabilities and the new wide camera sensor to be able to capture crisp, clear and bright photos even in very low lighting conditions. This feature is quite similar to the Night Sight mode on Google Pixel devices.

A.I Machine Learning To Improve Photos & Video

My favourite feature about the camera technology changes is the fact that the Smart HDR takes advantage of machine learning to capture more natural-looking images and make improvements to the highlights and shadow detail which will help produce better overall quality photos. Apple is also introducing a Deep Fusion feature that will use advanced machine learning techniques for pixel-by-pixel processing of photos, optimizing for texture, details, and noise which will be a better real-time editor for photos. New Machine Learning Accelerators allow the CPU to deliver more than 1 trillion operations per second, and the Neural Engine is faster than ever for real-time photo and video analysis.

This should help make the need to Photoshop your photos after taking the photo less likely of being a regular habit now. All in all, the iPhone 11 offers much improved photographic capabilities over the XR.

4K Recording with the iPhone 11

4K video recording with extended dynamic range is available at 24, 30, or 60fps, and both of the cameras in the iPhone 11 can be used for recording video, with live swapping available using a simple tap. Another new feature to filming videos is the QuickTake video mode which lets you hold down on the shutter button in the Camera app to automatically start to record video with subject tracking, and an Audio Zoom feature matches the audio to the video framing for more dynamic sound. The TrueDepth camera also supports next-generation smart HDR for more natural-looking photos and it can record 4K video at 60 fps.

The front-facing TrueDepth Camera system has been updated with a new 12-megapixel camera, and making Face ID up to 30 per cent faster and able to work better from different angles. For the first time, it now supports 120 fps slo-mo video, which is allowing users to capture slo-mo selfies, now dubbed as “slofies.”

Inside the new iPhone 11, there is an A13 Bionic 7-nanometer chip and along with it a third-generation Neural Engine. Apple says the A13 Bionic is the fastest chip ever in a smartphone with 20 per cent faster CPU and GPU than the previous A12.

iPhone 11 Battery Life

When it comes to iPhone 11’s battery life, the iPhone 11 is said based on tests done that it lasts for one hour longer than the iPhone XR. It can support up to 17 hours of video playback time, and up to 10 hours of streamed video playback. If you are more of an audio listener then you can enjoy up to 65 hours of audio playback, though it does not match the battery life of the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max.

Fast charging is available, but unlike the iPhone 11 Pro, the iPhone 11 ships with a standard 5W charger and fast charging require an additional special charger.

Capacity Sizes

64 GB
128 GB
256 GB

I don’t often write articles in the first person but I am super excited about a new GPS app for driving and it’s growing by the day in users around the world. I want to share what Waze app for Android and iPhone and why I love this app enough to write about it.

WebJex is a technology-focused business. We are passionate about technology and in particular the industry here in South Australia and we want to connect people and businesses to more useful technology. Waze is a new technology made from existing technology that is taking Adelaide drivers by craze. We as a tech and web design business find this app very useful for getting around to meeting people and being able to get there on time by finding the best routes that aren’t congested. It’s a real tool for middle and upper management who have a heavy daily work schedule of driving.

Waze is a GPS app that uses user-based feedback to give real-time data about local incident reporting that concerns drivers.

Waze is a recently acquired company of Google that has created its own people-powered driving app. The main reason why this is a better app than Google Maps is because Waze relies on it’s users to report. This is done by measuring and using your location data and distance travelled over a period of time to work out your speed. If multiple users on a street that should be a fast-paced road than the app is going to report that traffic is slow as a cross-reference.

This is one way that apps work out when traffic is congested but these apps don’t tell you everything like speed cameras.

Waze tells you about secret roadside cameras.

If a user or a passenger in a vehicle like on a bus they can report in traffic incidents ranging from speed cameras, roadside breath and alcohol testing buried water mains and other incidents. These incidents wouldn’t normally come up on Google maps.

Using Waze has been warned by police while driving, but the app is legal

Just to summarise recent media reports. If you touch your phone while driving you are committing an offence. So if you report in an incident please make sure you are pulled over safely with your entire off, keys out of the ignition and handbrake are secure and your car is not going anywhere. And then when you’re no longer in control of your vehicle you can submit a report. However, we just recommend if you have a passenger for them to do it on their own phone. We want to encourage and stress that this app is no excuse for mobile phones to be a distraction and that if you need to interact with any GPS mapping or with your mobile phone at all, you pull over safely. Please check your local state law regarding mobile phone usage if you have any concerns.

Waze app key features are to let you know where to get fuel or if you should fill up at night

One of the many exciting features is the ability to look up nearby petrol stations and see which one is the cheapest. If you create a trip and you add a fuel stop to your stops, you will get recommendations where to fill up on the way. We think this is an excellent way to save money when most of us don’t have time to check other pricing websites while on the go.

Save your favourite locations for future trips

You can save trips to use again at another time. It’s not a groundbreaking feature but the app is really simple to use and has more features than Google maps GPS and it’s a feature that they do really well by offering a clean and sleek interface design.

Download Waze for iPhone & Android

Multicraft Review – MineCraft’s Leading Hosting Software

Multicraft is the leading control panel that many MineCraft Server Hosting providers use for their customers and it’s pretty easy to see why with heaps of perks and advantages that make it a fantastic service for server owners to use but it is also a dream to set up. Check out our Multicraft Review below.

Advantages:
– Extremely scalable: one panel can control hundreds of servers
– Not just a control panel: It’s the most powerful Minecraft hosting platform available
– Proven solution: in use by hundreds of game server providers
– Easy mass deployment: fully controllable via an extensive API
– Unique features: FTP server and client, IP auth & much more
– Billing integration available (WHMCS, Ubersmith, …)
– Independent of Minecraft updates
– Translation support: German included, others available
– Under active development with strong focus on user input
– Lots of options for customization
– Slick Ajax driven interface with live log/chat/player list
– And much more!

Live demo

Multicraft consists of a web based control panel which is overlayed and a host-level application managing the Minecraft servers.
Multicraft runs on both Linux and Windows and one single control panel can manage a mixed set of Linux and Windows nodes at once.

Minecraft updates have never made an impact on updates or have made it necessary to change anything on Multicraft itself and mods like Bukkit should work out of the box… Well should..
